A
child born in poor family has no choice but
to earn to maintain parents and become part of earning member in this cruel
expensive life. In antiquity child labour slavery was normal practice. One of
12 sons of Jacob was sold to merchant in Egypt was Joseph. However, later he
became the saviour of Egypt. Charles Dickens’s novel ‘Oliver Twist’ a story of
child labour exposed
the cruel treatment of the many orphans in London
during the Dickensian era. “A Book written by Christian Laces – ‘Children in the Roman
Empire: Outsiders Within.’ In a society where the worlds where the worlds of
childhood and adulthood were never strictly separated, and where even the
youngest were required to contribute to the economic survival of their
families, the sight of children at work was quite common.” Antiquity was the
slave market with agents to raise profit rather was more profitable to buyer
and the seller than other trade and business. Many people in Greece and Rome
preferred slavery than the farmer due to high taxation and poverty. World say
them as ‘Child Labour’ without
realising root causes try to find short term solutions. Situations and the
reasons behind child labour is almost same ‘Poverty’ that forces parents seek
financial contribution from own children. In above links of my sites "CHILD LABOUR
and Society" tries to
explain the reasons and some solutions.
Eunuch:
literally bed-keeper or chamberlain, and not necessarily in all cases one who
was mutilated, although the practice of employing such mutilated persons in
Oriental courts was common (2 Kings
9:32 ; Esther
2:3). The law of Moses excluded
them from the congregation (Deuteronomy
23:1). They were common also among the Greeks and Romans. It is said that even
to-day there are some in Rome who are employed in singing soprano in the
Sistine Chapel. Three classes of eunuchs are mentioned in Matthew 19:12.
“Matthew
19:12: For there are eunuchs who have
been so from birth, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by men,
and there are eunuchs who have made themselves eunuchs for the sake of the
kingdom of heaven. Let the one who is able to receive this receive it.” “49:13.
Al-Hujurat: O mankind, indeed We have created you from male
and female and
made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most
noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah
is Knowing and Acquainted.” In present world If born in religious fanatic
developing countries as Eunuch or man
with woman behaviour, life becomes hell is as good as Unwanted Human. Long back
in 1988 a group of Eunuch visited my home they danced and took money. Before
their departure, by curiosity, I wished if I could know more about them! They
got infuriated and went away whispering something. But later one visited to
narrate her story, on a promise by us none would tell her group and the leader.
She took roughly two hours narrating her full story from the beginning
till day. Finally she said to trust what she experienced in the past. The story
was bewildering and saddening, persuaded me to do whatever possible. Wrote her
story to many appropriate authorities, finally UN responded favouring ‘rights
as citizen’. In above links ‘Unwanted
Humans’ narrates the story and the action by appropriate authority.
In antiquity religions and the
temples or ritual places were responsible
to take care of poor by feeding, donating cloths and other needs. As in all the
civilizations
exploitation of depressed class was immense which elevated slavery and poverty.
Human needs were less as compared to present world so food and clothing could
satisfy their soul. Early Rig Vedic people followed Dharma ‘Duties towards
needy’ guided by the scriptures. The
religious scriptures and temple laws made mandatory for rich or aristocrats to
contribute for temple welfare programs. Atharva.3.4.2
– O king! The people have
elected you. Be a true king, shine in all splendour, and the sole ruler of the
people. All men bow to you, the heavens bless you; be just and merciful.
Disburse money to people. All bounteous paths lead to your glory. For ten
decades may you live as a strong, kind ruler! Be just and firm and share your
glory with all. Atharva.19.15.4 – O
all-wise Lord! Guide us to that free world, where immortalising divine lustre
dwells; and where the radiant light of wisdom, the sun, shines, and solemn
peace reigns. O Lord, the arms are wide and strong; May we feel secure under
thy infinite shelter. “Deuteronomy 15:7
- If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy
gates in thy land which the Lord
thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand
from thy poor brother.” “Exodus 22:25
- If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not
be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury.” “Surat
Al-Baqarah Ch.2:273 -
[Charity is] for the poor who have been restricted for the cause of Allah,
unable to move about in the land. An ignorant [person] would think them
self-sufficient because of their restraint, but you will know them by their
[characteristic] sign. They do not ask people persistently [or at all]. And
whatever you spend of good - indeed, Allah is knowing of it.” “Deuteronomy 14:28-29 - At the end of
every three years, bring all the tithes of that year's produce and store it in
your towns so that the Levites (who have no allotment or inheritance of their
own) and the aliens, the fatherless and the widows who live in your towns may
come and eat and be satisfied, and so that the LORD your God may bless you in
all the work of your hands.” “Deuteronomy
10:18-19 - 18 He defends the cause of the fatherless and
the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and
clothing. 19 And you are to love those who are foreigners, for
you yourselves were foreigners in Egypt.” “Psalm
132:15 - I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor I will satisfy
with food.” All scriptures inscribes to help poor, the temples followed them
carefully. In present world we perceive the opposite. Has temple spirit faded
or vanished? Religious scripture is the foundation of human sanctity. The
Temples, churches and Mosques are responsible to defend human welfare. Nearly
40-50% of world population is poor. “World Food Program estimates
892 million people do not have
enough to eat. The vast majority of hungry people (827 million) live in developing countries,
where 14.3 percent of the population is undernourished.” My observation is
that economic policies, Government performance, religions and their role are
equally responsible for surging poverty. In above links of this site “Poverty A Subject” I tried to explain many
factors are
contributors to extensive Rural and Urban poverty.
UNORGANISED SECTOR and lack of social
security
:
This
web site of SADASHIVAN is an eye opener and a request to ILO/ WTO/ UNO/ AND
OTHER HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANISATION TO COME FORWARD SAVE THEIR FUTURE OF OLD AGE
!!!!!!!!
A
letter concerning unorganized sector pension was sent to the Prime Ministers
office of India, which replied, vide letter NO: 14853 DT.
19/10/1989 being forwarded to the Labor Ministry. Then Labor ministry letter DT. 10/4/1990
replied being forwarded to Employees State Insurance Corporation
A disappointing ESIC reply under letter NO:
X-11/15/8/90-P&D/363 dt.10/5/1990 replying ESI is a
contributory scheme for the workers of the factories establishments coming
within the purview of ESI Act, 1948. Similarly, International Labor Organization letter
NO: 110/1-9960 DT 29/11/1988 and UNO letter DT. G/SO/215/1 DT. 13/7/1990
responded negatively. There are thousands of organizations, who can
realy come ahead with this mission to approach appropriate countries making
them understand the necessity and influence them to provide social security to
workers who are in UNORGANISED SECTORS
“Academia.edu
in Old Age from Antiquity to Post-Modernity describes - Old people in ancient society
were an integral part of that society or were in some way excluded from full
participation depended on the degree of capability of the individual. In
many circumstances 40 to 50 per cent of elderly persons might be without either
a son or a daughter, and 30 to 40 per cent may have lacked both. Because of the
pattern of nuclear household formation, the parents of married couples would
have begun to lose their children’s income, and to lose each other in
widowhood.” Antiquity social pattern respect to elder family head has changed
so expectations from children too looms. Medication as essential diet to
survival is unaffordable. I spoke to 75 year old man “Patnabhan Nair” lives
close to my house. He lives with wife in rented house. He hardly survives with
mere low pension he receives. He blames his son, says “all my life my earnings
I spent on son’s and daughter’s education. Now both are reluctant to take care
of me. One third of pension I spend on medicines. I repent deeply, having
trusted and spent entire raising them. With that money had I bought small land
with small house and sown some tree I could have gained something” Poor pension
law to aged people wreaks
rest of life dismayed. There are many evident instances of homeless or in lousy
old aged homes, what happens, they never expected and not prepared too. In good
age they never saved for raising children. My opinion is, why not hold children
responsible by law for maintenance. Holding children responsible is not enough!
Even appropriate Governments are responsible for mismanaging integral social
issue. Nearly 60-70% of total population professionally engaged as employees or
self employed in unorganized sectors. If perceived carefully the streets and
neighbourhood, we can observe major percentages are aged people, handicapped or
child beggars. Without social security and medical benefits in old age, each of
us experience deprivation of human rights. Why not! A scheme introduced through
contributions of employees or self employed and Government right from the
working age. In 1988 I communicated several Medias, trade unions, Government,
ILO and UNO with a real story of “Ram Gopal Cycle Rikshaw Puller”, but no one
responded sincerely. I tried to explain the real story and the correspondences
with appropriate authorities in above links of this site “UNORGANISED SECTOR and lack of social security”.
I
travelled many of the tribal areas and found same situation and similar causes
of poverty. Their right to livelihood from forest discontinued and left to
suffer. Tribes are socially rich but economically poor. Nearly 68 million
tribesmen lived in India accordingly to the 1991 census but number has
substantially reduced as dependence on forest is fast vanishing as a result of
mass deforestation. Art, culture and the natural science they possessed has
almost disappeared as a result of non-understanding their ancient way of
living. Lack of forest and tribal research contributed to heavy loss to the
forest assets. Soaring poverty of Kurumbar tribes in Mukkali, Kerala clearly
signifies that modern language, alphabetic and numeric education alone cannot
eradicate poverty among tribes. Madia tribes are descendants of Pre-Vedic
Dravidians. They were most prosperous during antiquity but now they are in
pathetic condition. In antiquity Dhurva tribes were the great warriors the
protectors of tribal sanctity. Most tribe’s follow religious mother Goddess
rituals signify that during Stone Age they were migrants from Africa and
settled down around rivers. I travelled many tribal areas and gathered
information and photographs about their culture and why they were poor. Above
mentioned links of my sites “Poverty and
Tribes” has the information explains how tribes are poor and what can be
done for reform.
Above link from
my web site “Free Photos 4 ur social

is culture? What is religion? What is Civilization? What is Art? What is Love
and Attraction? What is common language? What is education? What is Evolution?
What is Sex and Attraction? Social study books and travel links. Scholars
say we are evolved from monkeys, but my doubt is if Chimpanzees are 95%
genetically close to us, they too could have evolved to at least half humans by
now. This establishes that there is limitation to the genetic evolution.
Evolution may be necessary aspect but does not apply to all situations.
Evolution is natural processes in all species which develops body and brain to
fit in survival conditions but contained to identity. To my opinion we were
different advanced species behaved primitive humans with better intellect to
communicate, organize and develop tools for security and survive in all
environments. May be we had walked on 4 arms as kids do, had sex as other
monkeys. However, body shape and weight evolved further on 2 legs. Human brain
was evolved by experiencing
survival difficulties, competition and security. The migration was the major
factor for transformation to modern human being. In above links of my site Africa
to Indus-Valley brings some
details of how over the time humanity thrived. The economics is a process of
managing continued existence, sources and the consumption. Human’s basic
instinct is to store the remaining after consumption. These two factors save
and exchange was later evolved to banking and trade. In above links of my Site Economics
and Management covers
Mesopotamian, Indus Valley, Ancient Persia, Ancient Egypt, Minoan, Mycenaeans,
Athens, Roman. They all grew and fell made mistakes for us to learn.
Rig Veda
10.17.10: “ ‘O’ mother! Purify us with your compassion, understanding and
enlightenment. The women cleanse us all from all our sin, corruption and
defects. We come out firm, pure and noble from their blessed company. ”
Galatians 3:28: There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free,
there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. First
stage of violence against women begins when parents abort the unborn daughter.
A woman with independent feelings is disqualification for her marriage as
saying she is indecent and corrupt. Above links of my site “Women and Rights”
reflects some of
discriminatory behaviour towards women.

society. Awareness in the society has now become very important for elimination
of this curse. child labour books ‘Child
labour’ is an issue many have worked to reduce, but as the poverty rose in this
world, child labour problems too escalated. In recent years more of new odd
fields have been opened to their employment like pornography, drug trafficking
and illicit trades etc; Rise in number of child workers is acute concern need

Marriage dreams when fails !!! :
An agreement
between man and woman to live together - emotionally and physically, recognized
by the society and gives its approval is called “Marriage”. After recognizing
the couple association, responsibility of the society is over rest are on the
shoulder of the couple to manage unending marriage. A
gift to beloved is the attraction - for emotional
touch. A gift represents your compassion and
connection. A gift is an honour to respect a person. Gifts signify presentation
of your devotion for relationship. A gift that relates to liking indicates your
intensity of involvement to know his/ her taste. A gift has emotional value for
attachment.
Fading
attraction drives differences and stress in married life. Dissatisfaction,
boring emotional and physical relation with spouse leads to extra marital
relationship. Most respected women on the earth become the most despising
mother in law when her son gets married and more in above links of my site: Marriage
Dreams when fails!!!

Emotions facilitate to realize the purpose of life and we live for, tend to
associate deep and deep into affairs. The stress is good for the evolution and
the health if does not exceed the limitations. Many circumstances incite us to
react to hunger, family, kids, study, marriage, companion, job, comfort,
health, future, safety, ambition, and so on. Become objective of our life thus
refuse to accept failure. The failure and complexity build up frustration,
fear, and insecure situation to our personality. Finally, burdens our
sole and mind to extreme that fails the functioning to react. Study stress,
family stress, kids stress, relationship stress, job stress, economic stress,
and so on, each of these has our emotional attachment in relation our
personality.
Stress is
psychological phenomena occurs when fail to accept the outcome. The
circumstances release cortisol stress hormone to protect and relax body
functioning. Modern high competitive culture stress is activated so constantly
that even released chemical fails resulting damaging immunity and brain
cells. Each of us unknowingly involve

Is a stage of blankness within
self, led by confusion, frustration, aggravation, irritation, competition, and

DHORATI mountain village :
DHORATI and
life HOW
NGO'S CAN HELP ? How STORES can
help?
DHORATI small village plight
begins as soon as we enter. The beautiful mountain village lives in poverty.
NGO's can help by adopting one of these villages of Munsyari. Major percentage
of population is migrating from Munsyari villages for employment opportunities
elsewhere. With small agricultural lands what they have is not enough to make
as source of income. Yield they get is hardly enough to feed them. Their
traditional carpet / woollen shawl weaving and is fading due to lack of demand
for these products. They were main suppliers to Tibet few years back but now
the trade is reduced much.
